Experience the South Shore Hospitality
At the crest of Confederation Bridge, high above Northumberland Strait, you will see a glorious ocean vista along with red soil, high rugged cliffs, and lush rolling hills. This is the South Shore of Prince Edward Island. Once you reach land you are embraced with a wealth of colour and a scent of sea air that will transport you to your South Shore adventure.

The South Shore encompasses the landscape between Summerside to the west and Charlottetown to the east and Route 2 to the north. We are the country between the two cities.

At the foot of the Confederation Bridge is Borden–Carleton, home to Gateway Village, a must stop on any visit. Gateway Village portrays a turn-of-the-century PEI streetscape and includes food and retail services, liquor store, and Visitor Information Centre. ‘Our Island Home’, an interactive museum, describes the Island’s heritage and culture through multimedia displays and exhibits focusing on the sea, the shore, the land, and its people. Admission is free.
